30 seconds in the hot seat with Rachel Newsome, Loyalty Manager for Create and Craft
- How long have you worked here at Create and Craft?
I started working at Create and Craft in January 2017. I originally joined the team in a maternity cover role in the marketing team and moved into the Loyalty Manager role in January 2018.
- Please tell more about your role and what you do on day to day basis?
As Loyalty Manager for Create and Craft it’s my responsibility to make sure that our valuable customers are well looked after at all times. It’s a real cliché to say, but there’s no typical day for me. It’s my job to work with the Craft Magazine editor to make sure all of the content is in place for the quarterly club magazine, as well as managing our Maker Rewards loyalty programme and sourcing exclusive content for our lovely Club members, plus lots of other things too. I also work with lots of different people on other customer focussed projects, like our Get the Nation Crafting Subscription. I love going to craft events to meet our customers face to face and understand more about what we are doing right, but also how we can do things better.
- Do you do any crafts yourself? If so, what do you do?
I must admit I’m not much of a crafter. However, since we launched the Get The Nation Crafting Subscription, I have been doing all of the projects as they have been released so that I can experience it first-hand. Kit number four is a colouring book and pens and I found myself getting addicted to colouring in – I even spent a Saturday night at home colouring which is very rare for me!
- What is your biggest achievement so far you have achieved working at Create and Craft?
I was part of the project team who launched our brand new Maker Rewards loyalty programme in February 2018. As you can imagine it took months of planning and testing, so to finally launch the programme and for it to be received so well by customers was a great achievement.
- Please share a random fact about you
I am a fussy eater and often horrify people by admitting I don’t like cheese!
