"2008/2009 has seen significant change within Ideal, and a complete restructuring of the Board and Senior Management team. The business has quickly stabilised, with strong and experienced managers joining the Company. We have a real depth of home shopping knowledge and despite previous management problems, we remain a business that is strategically well placed to take advantage of market trends toward a genuine multichannel business in TV shopping and e-commerce. Following a re-evaluation of strategy and direction by the new management team, initiatives are now in place to restore the business to growth and profitability."

Board changes
3rd Feb 2009
Ideal Shopping Direct PLC announces that further to the Company's announcement on 13 January 2009 stating that it had received a requisition notice requesting that the Company convene a general meeting to effect certain changes to the board of the Company ("the Board"), the Board has reached an agreement with the party that requisitioned the meeting in relation to a revised Board structure, and, as a result, the requisition notice has been withdrawn.

Ideal World Launches on Freesat

Ideal Shopping Direct Plc is pleased to announce that Ideal World has launched on the Freesat platform on Channel 816.

Freesat is a digital satellite television service and joint venture between the BBC and ITV, which currently broadcasts 180 services on its platform.

Like Freeview, once you’ve bought the box, there’s no contract or subscription, plus it offers free HD on all available channels.

Michael Hancox, Ideal’s Chief Executive, said:

Freesat is currently in about 300,000 homes and they are estimating 3 million by 2010, so this is another exciting new platform for Ideal Shopping Direct Plc, enabling the channel to reach more customers in the UK.

Freesat is a free-to-air digital satellite television platform developed by the BBC and ITV plc. The service launched on May 6th 2008 and offerers an alternative to Sky Digital , offering a selection of channels available without subscription.

Freesat was set up to ensure that all UK households have the opportunity to access digital TV and Radio, subscription-free.

The Public Service platform will include high definition programmes - without having to pay a monthly subscription.
